Born in Athens Greece, Elina Lebessi studied fashion design at Studio Berçot and Parsons School of Design in Paris.
Her creations for the Studio Berçot fashion show were highly praised by the French newspaper Liberation and the first collection of shoes she designed was presented at the new talent stand in the international show of footwear in Paris (Midec). After working experience at Christian Lacroix and Nikos Apostolopoulos, Elina established her own brand and boutique in Athens with clothing and accessories she designed. In 1994 she held her first fashion show with her friends as models. Since then she has participated in numerous fashion events and shows, such as the Greek Fashion Week, receiving critical acclaim from international press and media. Her boutique located at 13 Irakleitou St. Kolonaki, has been featured in international magazines and guides as one of the best in Athens, and her creations have been sold in some of the most established shops in the world.
In 2014, Elina and her daughter Nitta Mitsopoulou, who also graduated from Parsons School of Design with a Bachelor's degree in Communication Design, started their Sandal and Greek collections handmade by artisans in Greece. The aim of the collections is to celebrate and promote traditional Greek techniques while supporting the country during its financial struggles. Sandals are handmade by artisans in small workshops on the island of Crete and in Athens - leather is combined with friendship bracelets, coins, and beads using traditional techniques. The clothing and accessories are made using Greek woven fabrics. The Elina Lebessi designs are targeted towards the stylish, free spirited soul seeking a beachy, high quality, affordable look that matches and feels great from island settings to urban environments...
